I'm often being asked to recommend other Scottish travel bloggers and to be honest there doesn't seem to be many around that focus purely on Scotland. In fact this is one of the reasons that I started this blog as there are so many places to visit and experience in my home country that it is easy to write a whole travel blog about them.
However, there are a few Scottish travel bloggers that I love, some who focus on Scotland entirely and some who add in their world travels while still primarily championing their homeland. I've decided to share with you seven of my favourite bloggers that I really enjoy and I recommend you follow in 2015.
In no particular order...
The founder of my favourite Twitter travel chat #Scotlandhour and general promoter of all things travel, his blog is full of photographs from his trips around the world. He is a great advocate for Scotland and shares many pictures and videos from all around the country on his website and social media.
Nicola mainly writes about and photographs her travels in Scotland although she has a few posts from around the world added in. Many of her blog posts are based around her home in Fife, an area of Scotland which doesn't always get as much promotion as it deserves.
Neil at Locomotion Scotland
Neil purely blogs about Scotland and provides some great detail in his posts. He also offers a service to help you arrange a bespoke itinerary for your trip to Scotland and sells 5 Scottish essentials itineraries on his website. A great resource for planning and inspiration.
Kay photographs and writes about her travels at home and abroad in her own unique style. I particularly love her reviews of unusual Scottish accommodation and her travels on board a Scottish cruise around some amazing places. She doesn't blog on a regular basis but her posts are worth a read when she does.
Kim is a Dane living in Scotland who blogs about a mixture of travel at home and abroad. His blog posts are mainly made up of photos and he enjoys exploring the outdoors. If photographs of Scotland outdoors are your thing (and why wouldn't they be?) then you will enjoy his blog.
Glen is a Texan, currently residing in Louisiana but has Scottish ancestry and a love of the country. He first travelled to Scotland in April 2014 when he started his blog and is due to return later this month. His posts provide a different perspective on travelling in Scotland and personal stories from his journey.
Emma is a busy woman and unfortunately no longer blogs on a regular basis. However, her old travel posts are still well worth reading and they are also full of fantastic photographs. Emma also enjoys poetry and you will find some poetic lines intertwined with her writing.
Are you a blogger mainly writing about travel in Scotland? If so get in touch as I love reading new travel blogs from around my home country.
