When you spend as much time outdoors in the Scottish winter as I do, it is important to wear the right clothing to keep you cosy and warm. When I got the chance to try out the Sealskinz Tait Waterproof Beanie Hat from the Sealskinz range on the Polimil Factory Shop website it sounded like the perfect head wear for the wintry weather. Described as totally waterproof, breathable and windproof, I couldn't wait to test these claims out.
With the wild weekend weather, affectionately known as #ScotStorm, battering across the country, it seemed the perfect time to put my new hat to good use. I braved the elements including wind, rain, hail and snow and can testify that my new stripy head gear kept me toasty warm and dry. Just to be sure that the test was thoroughly scientific when I got home I gave the hat a little extra spin under the shower (not whilst still wearing it I might add!) and there was still no leakage thanks to the waterproof lining which I thought was pretty impressive.
The hat comes in a variety of colours but I particularly like the girly combo of pink and purple, my two favourite shades! So far I am really pleased with my new head wear which is not only warm and dry but also a little bit funky. One other great feature for me is that the soft fleece lining means my head doesn't itch which is a problem I have had with winter hats in the past.
Polimil may not be the first company that springs to mind for outdoor clothing and accessories, however I have shopped with them previously and found they stock a range of well known outdoor brands and camping equipment.
I was invited to review this product by Polimil, however I only review products and businesses that I believe in and as always all views and windswept hair are my own.
