Join one of their full day Outlander Tours, visiting locations surrounding the historic Royal Burgh of Linlithgow such as Doune Castle (Castle Leoch); Cullross (Cranesmuir); Blackness Castle (Black Jack’s stronghold in Fort William); Linlithgow Palace and Lallybroch. With an old fashioned ceilidh on the way and the odd bannock by way of sustenance, this tour is a real treat for any Outlander fan. Scheduled Outlander Tours run every Thursday at 10am from Linlithgow between March and September 2015 and cost £50 p.p. Follow the link below for more details
Enjoy an evening at their new Taste of Outlander Event and Show which includes traditional Scottish entertainment and a three-course meal, served by the Star & Garter Hotel, but inspired by Outlander Kitchen. Each dish is served with an explanation as to its relevance to the series, and comes accompanied by a quote from the book. After dinner, there’s traditional Scottish music courtesy of local band Boorach, Highland dancing (including the famous sword dance), a wee bit of bag-piping and further readings from the series. Shows run May to October every Thursday at 7pm in The Star and Garter Hotel in Linlithgow at a cost of £55 p.p. Follow the link below for more details
Linlithgow is only 20 mins by train from Edinburgh and 30 mins from Glasgow or approx 40 mins by car. Linlithgow Palace was used as a filming location for the interior scenes of Wentworth Prison and Mary's Meanders can tell you exactly which part of this atmospheric building was featured.
You might even get served by their familiar looking barman!
As an Outlander fan and a travel blogger that writes about Scotland I am always looking for the best Outlander themed experiences around the country that I can recommend to my readers and fellow fans.
In March I joined Mary's Meanders on a tour of Linlithgow and also sampled some of the Outlander dinner show for myself which you can read more about on my blog post here.
Since then I have personally got to know the owner Emma and Anne, one of the tour guides, and love that they are not only both passionate about Outlander but also about providing a fantastic experience for their guests.
I'm delighted that Emma has chosen to offer this prize to one lucky reader, however even if you don't win I highly recommend including their tours and show in your Scottish Outlander itinerary and if you need any more convincing check out their glowing reviews and 5 star rating on TripAdvisor!
