Spring has officially arrived along with shorter nights and the occasional appearance from the sun. Next weekend I start 2 weeks holiday from my 'real' job and normally this Spring break combination would see me heading off on my travels. Instead I have chosen to invest my time off updating my blog, catching up on some of the behind the scenes work that I've just not had the time to do lately. In May my little travel blog will be turning 2 and I'll soon be entering my third year of blogging. I'm very proud of my little space on the world wide web and I want that sense of pride to continue for years to come.
Recently I've been Spring cleaning and de-cluttering my home and now feel ready to shake off the dark winter and embrace a fresh new season. I've decided it is also time to do the same with my blog in preparation for it's blog birthday and my many journeys ahead. I see it as a small sacrifice to make and by putting my travels on hold and spending some time working on my blog now, I will be able to relax when my summer holidays arrive in July when I will be more than making up for time spent indoors thanks to a 6 week adventure around Scotland that I'm planning!
Most of all I want people to find my blog a useful resource for their travels in Scotland and hopefully some of the changes I'll be making will provide even more inspiration. This is all just a long way of letting you know changes are coming, my regular blog posts might not be so regular and if I seem a bit quieter than usual it's because I'm hard at work in my wee office trying to improve things. There is nothing like a good Spring clean to prepare the mind and soul for a brighter period ahead!
MY LATEST ARTICLE FOR SCOTLAND NOW
I didn't manage to publish any new blog posts on here last week but that doesn't mean I was slacking, quite the opposite! My second article for Scotland Now was published (see below for the link) and I submitted my first blog post for the VisitScotland website which should be published this week so look out for it on their blog page. As I've written quite a few freelance articles about Scottish travel, I decided that it would make sense to put them all in one handy place on my own website so you can now find all the links with even more travel inspiration here.
This weekend I enjoyed a trip to the historic town of Biggar and will be writing all about it soon. Before I finish up for my holidays I will also be taking part in a Scotlanders campaign to promote Glasgow so look out for updates on social media at the weekend and my blog post to follow. So I still have a few travels to share with you before the behind the scenes work begins!
Happy Easter :-)
